Lumen is a rare Legacy which has many functions. Development begins with an unbearable burning sensation in the palms brought on by an imbalance of emotion, such as anger or excitement. Along with the burning, Lumen comes in the form of light emitted from the palms, a continuing and useful function in the dark. As the development continues, it allows resistance to heat throughout the body, though the spread of heat resistence is aided with the Lorien Crystal.
It is a Legacy probable to a Loric who come under the Lorien Star Sign Orlin or Kupin.

- The I Am Number Four movie portrays Lumen being able to power up the Loric when they have been weakened. None of the books mention this.
- In Latin, Lumen means "Light"
- Lumen may lead to Pyrokinesis.
- The I Am Number Four movie also shows Lumen to shoot lasers as an offensive move from a fair distance.
- In the movie, Number Four kills the Mogadorian commander by using his Lumen to superheat the commander's energy cells for his gun, causing them to explode.
