The Fall of Five is the fourth book in the Lorien Legacies series. It continues the story of the Garde, hiding in Nine's penthouse in Chicago, following their near defeat during the Battle of Dulce. Sam Goode is finally reunited with John and Six after being rescued from Dulce by his Father, Malcolm and Adamus Sutekh. The Fall of Five also introduces the final member of the Garde, Number Five.

Plot
Four's Narration
Four, Six, Marina, Eight, Nine, Ella, and Sarah are in Nine`s penthouse in Chicago. They are monitoring the Internet, and find an article about a crop circle with the Loric symbol for Five. Four insists that he and Six are the only ones to go meet Five, but Sarah comes along anyway. Nine is angry.
Four, Six, and Sarah find Number Five. He is untrained and naive, but has cool Legacies of Flight and Externa. They fight a massive monster and are pretty much saved by Malcolm and Sam. Sam and Six hug extremely awkwardly. They return to the penthouse and all share dinner. Sam talks about the Mogadorian with Legacies who rescued him. Nine makes fun of Five as soon as he sees him. The Garde play Capture the Flag. The Garde find some Mogadorians with documents. Later, Ella is unable to wake up from a nightmare. Four is pulled into her nightmare when she grabs him. Marina is distraught. Eight comforts her. The remaining Garde decide to go get Five`s Chest from Florida, against Marina`s better judgement.
Four is in Ella`s vision. He hears her voice in his head asking for help and sees her in a throne next to Setrákus Ra. Ella orders Six and Sam to be executed, looking dazed. As Six is beheaded, Four wakes up with a new scar.
Four chooses healing Malcolm over stopping Ella from being kidnapped. Four meets a Mogadorian who can cause earthquakes and realizes that he is Adam, the one Malcolm and Sam talked about. The book ends with Four saying:
"Alright, Adam. You`re gonna help me win this war."
Marina's Narration
Ella and Marina talk, about Ella`s nightmares. Ella also talks about who she thinks is a couple, including Marina and Eight and herself and Nine. Marina and Eight go to the waterfront and wander around happily, with Ella`s approval. They joke around and relax. When they return, Nine is angry and they train. They enjoy themselves and Marina punches Nine in the face. The training also helps their skills. Ella says that she is leaving, because she found out that she was not chosen by the Elders to escape Lorien. Marina, Eight, and Nine talk her out of it.
Ella was having nightmares with Setrákus Ra in them. She developed Telekinesis when a nightmare woke her up.
The Garde play Capture the Flag. The Garde find some Mogadorians with documents. Later, Ella is unable to wake up from a nightmare. Four is pulled into her nightmare when she grabs him. Marina is distraught. Eight comforts her. The remaining Garde decide to go get Five`s Chest from Florida, against Marina`s better judgement.
Five, Marina, Nine, Eight, and Six meet a monster. Eight eventually kills it, but is injured. Marina heals him. He says that he could kiss her. She responds suggesting to kiss later. Five attacks and subdues Nine and Six. Six is knocked out and Nine is being held underwater. He says that the Garde cannot beat the Mogadorians, and that Marina and Eight would listen, but Nine and Six wouldn`t. Marina says to stop drowning Nine, but as soon as Nine is above water, he starts goading Five. Five eventually tries to stab him to death. Eight teleports and is killed instead. Even Five is upset. Marina develops Cyrokinesis and pokes out one of Five`s eyes, freezing Eight`s body.
Sam's Narration
Sam is being tortured by Setrákus Ra. He tells whatever he thinks will not hurt the Garde. He is rescued by his father, Malcolm Goode, and a Mogadorian with a Legacy, Adam. Adam is separated from them. Sam and Malcolm flee.
Sam translates the documents they found the Mogadorians carrying. He discovers that they contain the address of Nine`s penthouse and Malcolm`s notes. Sam is bewildered, and Nine`s penthouse is attacked.

The Audio version of The Fall of Five is performed by recurring voice cast of Neil Kaplan, reading Four's narration, and Marisol Ramirez, reading Marina's narration. Liam Aiken joins the voice cast, reading the narration for Sam Goode. The Audiobook runs at 9 Hours and 7 minutes.
